Recruitment for our Client – one of the largest players in construction industry worldwide.
You will be responsible for managing the legal department and all legal matters within a company activity in Poland. This includes providing legal advice to the board, managing legal department and all related activity of the legal department (business activities, corporate governance, compliance activities) and guidance to senior management, negotiating and drafting contracts, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and representing the company in legal proceedings.
Your responsibilities
- leading the whole Legal Department (more than 10 FTE),
- providing on-going legal advisory to the company holding, incl. construction law, public procurement law, real estate law, environmental protection law, labor law and (union law issues in the negotiations with the trade unions), collective redundancies, restructuring, litigation and administrative and arbitration support, internal advisory and external co-operation with law firms, incl. M&A; corporate and civil law,
- conducting legal analysis, research and reviews on a variety of legal issues, national and international laws, and risk evaluation,
- monitoring and appraising legal performance and maintain a strong internal control environment,
- development of legal organizational strategies by contributing business orientated and entrepreneurial solutions,
- managing expenditure within agreed business plan limits,
- actively monitors and reports on activity and performance,
- develops strong working relationship with all departments,
- consolidates and continuously improves general processes,
- ensures the effective operation of the subsidiaries to achieve the business goals,
- supports HR department in collaboration with the trade unions,
- creates the new organization chart of legal department and unifies procedures.
Your responsibilities
- 10+ years of experience in management of legal department in general contractor company,
- experience of in-house legal advisory to the Board,
- ability to demonstrate thorough expertise in the area of: Corporate, M&A, Financial, Construction Law,
- ability to lead or serve as a strategic member of key legally- oriented projects with high visibility to senior management across the Group,
- proven experience in representing the Legal function on country-wide strategic initiatives and highly complex business transactions,
- contract and partnership development experience with strategic accounts and with government,
- ability to partner with other departments to achieve company goals,
- excellent intercultural competence,
- analytical mindset,
- excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills as well as emotional intelligence and demonstrated ability to motivate, build trust, and gain support,
- highly customer and success-oriented, flexible, and able to work independently and as part of a team,
- strong entrepreneurial spirit and a willingness to act with a problem-solving mindset,
- business oriented, good communication skills, management skills,
- fluent English.
